Aftercare

To give you the best results from your treatments it is important to follow the before and aftercare

Waxing

It’s normal immediately after your wax for a little bit of redness and a prickly heat type rash to appear. This should disappear after a few hours. Use a cold compress and stick to the aftercare.  Please inform me if you have anything that lasts more than a few hours as soon as possible

Waxing removes the hair at the root, it’s important to keep the area clean and bacteria free

No sunbathing/exposure to heat & sun for at least 24hours even in the UK & have your waxing done at least THE DAY BEFORE you go on holiday

No swimming in a chlorinated pool, spa baths, saunas or UV for 24 hours

Avoid applying any topical lotions for at least 12 hours (fragrances and other lubricants can cause a burning sensation) including deodorant

Avoid tight clothing or make up (depending on the area waxed)

Avoid touching the area to ensure it remains bacteria free

Use a tea tree oil-based product to apply to the area for it's antibacterial qualities

Although your treatment will be carried out to the highest standards reactions can still occur.

3-10 Days after waxing

To prevent ingrown hairs use a soft brush or exfoliating glove to gently buff the area every 2-3 days – this is particularly important after about day 3 through to about the 10 day mark.  It doesn’t need to be hard scrubbing, just a gentle exfoliation.

If you suffer from ingrowing hairs you could use an ingrown hair eliminating product.

The added bonus of following the aftercare advice (apart from your skin looking hair free and smooth for longer), is that it really will make your next wax a whole lot quicker and less painful.

If you are trying to grow your brows try not to tweeze in-between appointments you can try lash serum/coconut oil/castor oil or wild rose beauty balm each night

Lash lift and tinting

Avoid steam and hot showers for 24hrs

Do not get your lashes/brows wet, wear mascara or use cream around the eye for 24hrs

After the first 24hrs use a lash serum daily

Holistic treatments

Spend some time fully relaxing to benefit completely from the treatment. This ensures that the body is able to heal itself sufficiently and gain maximum benefits

Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins; massage aids the removal of toxins from the body

Coffee, tea and fizzy drinks should be avoided as they contain caffeine. Aim to drink two glasses of water after each drink of tea or coffee if not and try to drink herbal infusions in place of tea or coffee.  Avoid any headache tablets that contain caffeine

Avoid eating a heavy meal. Eat a light and natural diet, as refined and processed foods add to the toxicity levels within the body and hinder the natural healing process

Try not to smoke or drink Alcohol for next 24 hours. Alcohol and smoking are

counter- productive as they increase the levels of toxins in the body

You may experience some achiness after your treatment, apply a warm or cold compress, take a bath or shower to help, this should pass soon

Some people may experience the following after treatment:

Feelings of tiredness or fatigue or increased energy

Changes in sleep patterns

Headache

Heightened emotional state-

feeling calm, happy, a little emotional,

perhaps even tearful

Changes in bowel movements/urine

Excess perspiration

Flu-like symptoms

These effects are only temporary and

should subside within 24-48 hours, they

are signs that your body is working

Manicures & Pedicures

In the first 24 hours be especially careful with your nails

Use cuticle oil daily. Dab a little onto each nail and massage into the nail and surrounding skin

Never use your nails as tools instead use the pads of your fingers. (e.g. when typing)

Don’t pick the product off – this will cause damage to the nail that cannot be repaired

Always use gloves when doing household chores and gardening

Avoid using harsh chemicals without wearing gloves. Dye from your jeans, newly coloured hair and even food can stain

Chlorine may cause lifting of Gel Polish. For best results, please wait 24 hours after application before you go swimming

Certain products such as sunscreen, tanning lotion, insect repellents, anti bac and oil based products can cause the gel polish to lift. When using these products, try to avoid getting the product on your nails and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards

Return for regular, professional manicures every 2 -3 weeks
